Beta experience: I have been a beta for several stories, but not on a very regular basis.  I am a good editor and good at clean-up/making things clearer. I've always been a reader so I am good at sensing and establishing characters and helping clarify and smooth the flow of a story.
Since I have limitexperience as a beta I prefer to stick with shorter stories and one-shots; I am better at reading/helping with completed stories, but I can be (and enjoy being) a sounding board for planning plots.
Story types/topics I will not beta: I prefer reading AUs (ZA and non-ZA).

Beta experience: I have had beta experience before over on FF.net. I co-wrote a lot of stories with one of my friends, captainty, on there. As such I did all the things that a beta should do. I had a lot of input into the plot of the stories. I also reviewed all the chapters for her when she was done which included fixing grammar, spelling, and punctuation. I've also beta'd a lot of my personal friend's original stories. That included doing the same thing. And of course I am American, so I'm well versed in our language.
Story types/topics I will not beta: I'm not really good with sensitive issues like attempted suicide. I don't know what the proper response to those types of issues should be and as such I would not trust myself to be able to help with the incorporation of them into a story. I really don't like stories dealing with rape either unless it's absolutely vital to the plot and I think that is a very hard thing to get right.

Beta experience: All editing experience comes from both writing fanfiction and short stories. Various stories within fandoms such as The Walking Dead and others have been completed over the last 3 years, and I have usually been asked to be "a second pair of eyes" for various stories rather than asked to be an editor itself. This being said, I am happy to provide constructive criticisms, grammar and plot advice, as well as help with punctuation and sentence structure if interested.
