I've been dying to read either an AU of Daryl crossing paths with Carol while he was with the group of bandits in season four, or the two of them running into a similar group while out looking for Beth. Daryl should have to practice what he learned and 'claim' her to keep the other men from trying anything. Also her response would be an interesting read!
Carol is a popular suspense novelist. For almost a year, she has been receiving letters from a deranged fan, but after analyzing the letters, the FBI does not think that the person is a threat and that the violence will escalate. Their assessment does not alleviate her fears, especially since she lives on a large wooden land, her closest neighbour living a mile away. She decides to hire private live-in security and that's when the smoldering hot Daryl Dixon shows up at her door. Daryl, an ex-marine turned bodyguard, is the epitome of the strong silent type. Carol feels immediately safe with him, but her powerful attraction to him is a danger that she did not expect. Romance and smut please! Lots of smut!

I would love to see a reunion scene like this. They first see each other again across a pond, small lake or a creek, and rather than call out or say anything at all, they both just walk right into the water until they meet in the middle. They start out slowly, hesitantly, each not believing what they are seeing, stunned speechless. Carol simply stands still after they come face to face, tears brimming in her eyes. Daryl raises one hand, still holding on to his crossbow with the other, and gently, hesitantly raises a shaking hand to gently caress the corner of her mouth, then her cheek and her chin. Here insert whatever phrase appropriate, such as you're alive, you're real, you're not dead or I never thought I'd see you again or whatever. I categorized it as S4, but play with it as you please! I just loved the edit from Kafryne!
I need some comedy to brighten the darkness. So if someone is willing, I'd like to see Daryl getting hurt and being drugged for the pain. The getting hurt part could be something comedic as well. We all know he can be very caring, kind, protective, funny, and such, especially in his few and far between, unguarded moments.
So I want Carol taking care of a loopey, medicated Daryl and Carol learning a lot of new things about him, including feels. Bonus points for the entirety of their extended family getting snatches of a highly amusing Daryl too.
It can be whatever rating you would like. Any season you would like. You can cannibolize this prompt if you like. I just want a good comedy.

Carol works the reception desk at the Vet. Clinic Hershel runs. Construction Worker!Daryl brings an abandoned puppy, that he found skulking around the job site, to the clinic.
With over population being a serious issue funding, manpower, and time is devoted to the exploration of space. Those brave enough to go out into the void are rewarded. With nothing to lose Carol barters passage on an outbound ship for herself and Sophia. The passengers are put into cryo-sleep for the majority of the trip, and brought out in rotations. Carol meets Daryl, who also left very little behind to get a new start, on one of these rotations and they strike up an odd sort of friendship. When their transport is damaged and must set down on an unexplored planet Daryl promises Carol and Sophia he'll look after them. And thus an unlikely friendship turns into love; among the stars.
Glenn and Tara get talking about how Carol and Daryl would make a great couple and that they ship it. Eventually they get tired of waiting for either of them to make it happen so work together to try and make Caryl canon themselves.
A fic where Norman and Melissa deal with the aftermath of their reunion scene in S5 Ep1.
Following filming, they're both tired, but Mel is completely exhausted, to the point of collapse, by the physical and emotional aspects of filming the episode. Norman comes to help her get through it. I like to think of him as nurturing and caring toward her and she toward him (and, of course, whatever other lovely things you come up with).
Following the airing of the episode, they have to deal with the huge public response.
Hello Caryl writers! If I had any sort of ability to write I'd try it myself.. but would like to see the brief moment between the hugs and the walk back to the cabin when Carol maybe shyly (or proudly?) hands over the crossbow.
And Daryl is maybe awed, humble or still in shock that she saved them AND got his weapon..and says to her "you're a real piece of work lady" in a sweet/amazed way..and Carol tears up when she remembers him saying that before..
Chapter by chapter near death experiences (cannon show ones explored deeper. Ones from Winter. Ones from the exile. Ones you create...) Just nine chapters, culminating in character death as the 9th runs out.
